R&B Singer / songwriter
As the world of music seems to be transforming, there is still one R&B crooner who feels the passion behind the music: Elliott McKenzie. Inspired and vicariously mentored by greats like Tank, Joe, Usher, Ryan Leslie, and more, Elliott’s brand speaks volumes and is noticeable from any distance near or far.
Known for his powerful and awe-inspiring vocals, this Los Angeles area-born and raised gentleman is seeking to change the face of R&B by fusing those good old 90s and early 2000s arrangements with modern production. If you’re a fan of early R&B, nostalgia will take over when listening to Elliott’s music. What makes Elliott different? The fact that he is a Veteran of the Iraq War who served honorably for eight years. Being a combat Veteran with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, he uses music as therapy for his issues. When Elliott writes and performs, the adrenaline release is therapeutic for him. Using music, Elliott overcame homelessness, graduated college, and found a way to save his own life.
The story of how Elliott uses music to power through mental illness and overcome struggles has been told on NBC, CBS, KTLA, Spectrum News, and multiple other media outlets. He’s also had the honor of performing the National Anthem for teams such as the Rams, Dodgers, Kings, and Lakers. The platform he now has enables him to inspire listeners worldwide. His fans have become his fuel and his goal is to inspire as many people as possible through his music.
In early 2021 Elliott released his debut album “Therapy Session”. Exploring new ground, this album includes new styles and produces the best performances he has ever given, both in studio and live on stage. It combines powerful and inspirational songs with passionate R&B that everyone can enjoy.
Currently, Elliott is recording his second studio album “Follow Up”, which will release in 2025. Like the follow up appointment to your first session with a therapist, it will be the continuation of his debut album and will bring new positive energy, fun up-tempo songs, eclectic R&B, and more!
On social media Elliott uses the hashtag #RNBVET to identify himself and his brand. Being a combat Veteran turned R&B singer, #rnbvet fits perfectly!
